Abstract

In Romania, the areas cultivated with rapeseed are continuously increasing. Rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) is cultivated on significant areas, which are continuously increasing due to market demand, especially for oil production, with the increase in the area cultivated with rapeseed, new challenges have emerged. The first problem is the agricultural technology applied and the agricultural machinery scheme used, both in terms of economics and productivity. Farmers also face problems related to plant protection, especially pest control. During 2022-2023, in the experimental plots located near of Ungheni and in Grebenisul de Campie, (both in Mures County, Romania), two different soil tillage systems were used, the conventional tillage system and the minimum tillage system. The impact of these works on the control of a problematic species present in rapeseed crops, more precisely on the species Brassicogethes (Meligethes) aeneus F., was studied. In the variant with the conventional soil tillage system, the total number of catches was considerably lower, by 77.4% in 2022 and 70.9% in 2023, compared to the variant with the minimum tillage system.
